Research on Performance Evaluation in Junior High School Physics Classrooms

Abstract: The newly revised compulsory education curriculum plan clarifies the basic principle of curriculum construction of "focusing on core competencies and facing the future", and emphasizes the important position of core competencies as an educational goal. To promote the implementation of students' core competencies, the application of corresponding evaluation methods is indispensable. On one hand, evaluation is an important means to test whether students have achieved the expected competency goals; on the other hand, evaluation can guide courses and teaching to improve in a direction that is conducive to competency development. However, not all evaluation methods can achieve the above goals. Under the background of core competency-based curriculum reform, educational evaluation urgently needs to break away from the shackles where traditional paper-and-pencil testing dominates, and move towards a more comprehensive and balanced multi-evaluation system. Promoting performance evaluation is one of the key measures to achieve this transformation.
