Abstract:Architectural decoration is a multidisciplinary integrated discipline that combines spatial aesthetics, engineering practice and market application, aiming to cultivate interdisciplinary technical talents with solid practical capabilities, creative thinking and industry adaptability. The conventional lecture-based teaching mode adopted in domestic architectural decoration majors currently faces prominent drawbacks, including the disconnection between theoretical knowledge and industrial practice, virtualized teaching scenarios, homogenized student design outputs and insufficient practical implementation capacities. Such a teaching model fails to cater to the new industrial development trend featuring intelligence, environmental friendliness and personalization. As a student-oriented and problem-driven teaching method rooted in practical projects, Project-Based Learning (PBL) effectively remedies the deficiencies of traditional teaching and supports the cultivation of students’ innovative capabilities. Based on the latest industrial development trends and the prevailing shortcomings of talent training in universities, this study elaborates the core connotation and teaching advantages of PBL. It innovatively integrates four practical teaching optimization paths, namely school-enterprise collaborative education, AI digital modeling, digital comparison of master design cases and BIM technology empowerment, so as to refine the whole-process implementation system of PBL teaching. These targeted strategies solve typical teaching dilemmas such as market disconnection, unrealistic training scenarios, design homogenization and non-standard construction budgeting. This paper also summarizes the practical problems existing in current PBL teaching implementation and puts forward feasible optimization schemes. The research outcomes are intended to renovate the conventional teaching paradigm of architectural decoration majors, improve students’ comprehensive literacy in innovative design, digital operation and engineering implementation, and provide practical references for cultivating high-quality innovative and practical talents for the architectural decoration industry.
