BLT Application in Anglo-American Literature Courses

Abstract：With the development of "Ideological and Political Education in Curriculum" (IPEC) at the level of higher education, Anglo-American literature programmes, which are for the purpose of transmitting culture and values, have provided new channels for adding ideological and political content. This paper explores how to apply Blended Learning Teaching (BLT) in such subjects to achieve a good combination of literary appreciation, cultural literacy, language skills, ideological and political education, etc. According to the theory of constructivism, communicative language teaching and related ideas, a paper will be written through research and study. First, it will define the nature of BLT and how it can be integrated with ideological and political education in the subject of Anglo-American literature, then analyze the actual application circumstances, problems and reasons behind them. Then, a practical application structure will be built based on the instructional objectives, resource coordination, teaching procedures, evaluation plans, etc. Finally, after some tests, it has been found that the above measures are effective. Based on the above data, it was concluded that BLT should have relevance, interactivity, integration and sustainability. At the core is the combination of ideological and political factors in digital and physical teaching; thus, we study the latent ideological and political connotations of literary works and design immersive activities. To improve the training of teachers and establish a reasonable evaluation system are necessary guarantees. This work is an extension of the research by IPEC on the literary curriculum and an experience in educational reform.
