Innovative Transformation of Traditional Tie-dyeing Technology in Modern School Uniform Design

Abstract: The innovative integration of traditional tie-dye techniques with modern school uniform design serves as a crucial approach to addressing uniformity challenges and preserving intangible cultural heritage through dynamic inheritance. This study systematically explores three dimensions: pattern reconstruction, color innovation, and process optimization. In terms of patterns, the research transforms "figurative narratives" into "abstract compositions," converting traditional auspicious motifs into geometric textures suitable for uniforms. Regarding color schemes, it breaks free from "monochromatic indigo dyeing" limitations by establishing low-saturation color palettes based on botanical dyes. Technologically, mold-based tying techniques combined with CNC dyeing enable upgrades from "pure manual craftsmanship" to "semi-industrialized production." Building upon these advancements, the study completes process reengineering, differentiated market positioning, and compliance validation, establishing a technical pathway that balances cultural significance with industrial feasibility. Findings demonstrate that tie-dye uniforms achieve equilibrium between functionality, aesthetics, and educational value, providing replicable paradigm references for contemporary applications of traditional craftsmanship.
